Broncos Beat Steelers In OT Highlights

After the Denver Broncos lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in their final regular season game the teams executive vice president of football operations, who just happens to be John Elway, had three words for Tim Tebow for the upcoming AFC wild-card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, “pull the trigger,” and that’s exactly what Tebow did.

I don’t recall one NFL analyst predicting the Broncos to beat the defending AFC champions, not one. But that’s ok, the Broncos were big time under dogs in Superbowl XXXII and look what happened!

The Steelers showed championship heart coming back from a 20-6 deficit to tie the game at 23-23 and send it into overtime. The new NFL overtime playoff rule didn’t matter as the Broncos won in 11 seconds on the first play in OT which was the quickest NFL playoff win on an 80 yard TD strike from Tim Tebow to Demaryius Thomas.

Quarterback Stats:
Ben Roethlisberger – 22/40 passing for 289 yards 1 TD 1 INT
Tim Tebow – 10/21 passing for 316 yards 2 TD’s 0 INT 50 yards rushing 1 TD

Shootout at Mall of America Field

Tim Tebow vs. Christian Ponder was like Florida vs. Florida State all over again only this time it was Tebow’s Broncos vs. Ponder’s Vikings.

The Vikings led the game 15-7 at halftime with Denver’s only score coming off of a 16 yard interception return for a touchdown by Mario Haggan. But in the 3rd quarter everything changed.

The Broncos offense got rolling and their touchdown made the score 15-14. What ensued was like a heavyweight fight reminiscent of Ron Lyle vs. George Foreman with each team getting smacked with big plays and getting back up to score again.

The back and forth action was exciting to watch. Receivers Percy Harvin and Demaryius Thomas each ended the game with over 140 yards and two TD’s apiece. Thomas nearly caught two other touchdowns which would have been amazing.

Quarterback stats:
Tim Tebow 10/15 passing for 202 yards 2 TD’s 0 INT
Christian Ponder 29/47 passing for 381 yards 3 TD’s 2 INT’s

Tim Tebow Broncos vs Jets HD Highlights

The Denver Broncos hosted the New York Jets for NFL’s Thursday night football on November 18,2011 and with the Broncos trailing 13-10 with just over 5 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter Tim Tebow and the Broncos offense got the ball at their own 5 yard line. What happened over the next 4 minutes left Jets head coach, Rex Ryan, shaking his head as if to say “What just happened?”

Just about every NFL analyst and sports writer I heard or saw picked the Jets to win. They must have figured since Rex Ryan wrote a chapter in his NFL defense book on how to stop the option that the Jets would be able to do it. For most of the game the Jets defense did pretty much that.

QB Stats:
Tim Tebow completed 9 of 20 passes for 104 yards 0 TD 0 INT, 68 yards rushing and the 20 yard game-winning touchdown.

Mark Sanchez completed 24 of 40 passes for 252 yards 0 TD 1 INT.
