It’s nice to have Peyton Manning and Michael Vick on the same fantasy football team because normally you can’t go wrong starting either. I’ve never had this type of problem at quarterback before. Usually you’ll have one QB that is your guaranteed starter. Not in this case.
Manning plays at home against the Cowboys. He should do well. Vick plays at home against the Texans so he should do well also. Who would you start between Manning or Vick? Manning is slated to start but this could be subject to change any moment since Vick plays in tonight’s game.
Let’s look at this week’s matchup against Addie’s House O Pain.
A-hop’s team is 5-5 anchored by Tom Brady, Adrian Peterson and Reggie Wayne. My team, Deep Throw, is 7-3 led by Peyton Manning (sometimes Michael Vick), Maurice Jones-Drew, Rashard Mendenhall, Dwayne Bowe and Jeremy Maclin.
According to ESPN’s fantasy football comparison Deep Throw has the advantage in all areas except Nate Washington over Jeremy Maclin, Kellen Winslow over Jason Witten and a push at kicker.
Not sure how ESPN’s formula works for calculating those projections but I like it.
Ronnie Brown has not been producing as expected but he’s doing as well as my other two flex options which are Chad Ochocinco and LaDanian Tomlinson who started out hot but has since faded some.
This is a division league so Wins are crucial this time of year. Deep Throw is only one game ahead in Blue Divison. The Orange Division leader has a 9-2 record and can lock a playoff spot with a win this week.
* Approximately 21/2 hours later I decided to start Michael Vick. Houston is known to get involved in high scoring shoot-outs so here’s to hoping Vick lights up the scoreboard! Like I said before, only in fantasy football can you bench Peyton Manning and get away with it.
