After the Denver Broncos lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in their final regular season game the teams executive vice president of football operations, who just happens to be John Elway, had three words for Tim Tebow for the upcoming AFC wild-card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, “pull the trigger,” and that’s exactly what Tebow did.
I don’t recall one NFL analyst predicting the Broncos to beat the defending AFC champions, not one. But that’s ok, the Broncos were big time under dogs in Superbowl XXXII and look what happened!
The Steelers showed championship heart coming back from a 20-6 deficit to tie the game at 23-23 and send it into overtime. The new NFL overtime playoff rule didn’t matter as the Broncos won in 11 seconds on the first play in OT which was the quickest NFL playoff win on an 80 yard TD strike from Tim Tebow to Demaryius Thomas.
