Super JSuperman can see see through walls, he has super strength, he can fly and he is the man of steel. Black Widow has impeccable interrogation skills, the Incredible Hulk is indestructible and has unbelievable strength. Spiderman can shoot webs out of his hands, Charles Xavier has telepathic abilities and is a scientific genius.

But whatever special powers any man made super hero has you can be sure that they utterly fail in comparison to the Real Superman and we’re not talking about Clark Kent. The Real Superman is the hero above all heroes and his powers, unlike the fictional comic book characters, are real.

Jesus of Nazareth, the real live Superman, can read the thoughts of all men (Luke 6:8, Matthew 9:4). He can heal diseases, he can heal the blind or deaf and do it without the use of science or technology… he commands it and it is so (Matthew 12:22, Matthew 14:14, Mark 1:34).

Jesus can walk on water (Matthew 14:29).

Jesus calms the stormStorm, the X-Men character, would be envious of Jesus’ ability to control the weather. His band of disciples, though expert sailors and fishermen, found themselves in the middle of a severe storm that was about to sink their boat. They became frightened and woke Jesus, who in the middle of this treacherous storm was “asleep on a pillow.” And Jesus arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm (Mark 4:38,39).

And his disciples said to one another “What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” (Mark 4:41)

Jesus can create a universe out of nothing, using no pre-existing material and can even create living beings (Genesis 1, John 1:1-4). Jesus can raise dead people to life (John 11:43, Luke 7:15).

There’s not one man-made fictional character in history that comes close to having the powers of the real life Superman, who is Jesus Christ.

Of course, unlike fictional comic book characters and so on, Jesus is God, the True and Living God. Not a demi-god, not “a god” but “God manifest in the flesh,” (1 Timothy 3:16).

Jesus can make himself invisible or disappear (Luke 4:30). Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords (1 Timothy 6:15).

Peter heals a crippled man - Acts 3Jesus can share his power. Jesus worked miracles through his disciples like in Acts chapter 3 where Peter and John healed a paralyzed man in the name of Jesus.

And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him (the crippled man) with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength (Acts 3:4-7).

Jesus is the Savior of the world (1 John 4:14). Look at this brief description the apostle Paul gives of Jesus:

(Jesus) Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. – Colossians 1:15-20

Jesus knows everything about you (John 4:29).
