iPhone jailbreak

One smartphone you don’t want to jailbreak is an Apple iPhone. According to Apple at least.

Apple says that jailbreaking your iPhone can “severely degrade” the user experience of the smartphone device.

What exactly is this iPhone jailbreaking anyway? The new U.S. copyright law actually pertains to all smartphone’s not just the iPhone. Here’s the opening summary:

Proposed Class #1: Computer programs that enable wireless telephone handsets to execute lawfully obtained software applications, where circumvention is accomplished for the sole purpose of enabling interoperability of such applications with computer programs on the telephone handset.

What’s the big deal? Not much according to those in favor of the ruling. This is about freedom to install the applications you want on your mobile device.

Apple’s warning is simply jailbreak your iPhone and we’ll void your warranty and more than likely something will go wrong with it such as input failure, shortened battery life, output failure, disrupted service…something.

But will anything go wrong? Will your iPhone wig out if you jailbreak it? According to Apple jailbreaking is an unauthorized modification of the iPhone OS. To really know what will happen you’ll have to jailbreak your iPhone and find out first hand.
