Three people were wounded from the bombing near the Damas Rose hotel in Damascus, Syria.
Syria is a hot topic in the world right now. There’s war there just waiting to happen and Damascus is the capital city.
Damascus is an ancient city with much history. About 2,000 years ago Damascus is where Saul of Tarsus was on his way to hunt down early Christians when a blinding light knocked him off his horse and he heard the voice of the risen Jesus speak to him telling him to go on into the city (Acts 9).
But more concerning for Damascus is an ancient prophecy from the Hebrew prophet, Isaiah, who penned a warning of doom for the city some 2,600 years ago.
The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. Isaiah 17:1
