The X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV) which launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., March 5, 2011 has returned to earth.
“The X-37B is the newest and most advanced re-entry spacecraft,” according to Vandenberg Airforce Base. The X-37B conducted on-orbit experiments for 469 days before safely returning to earth.
Is it a space drone? We don’t know much about the Air Force’s unmanned, reusable space plane, other than it is successfully flew in space for over a year.
A second space launch is currently planned for this coming fall.
